van der Hoeven et al reported the Posterior Circulation Collateral Score (PC-CS) to describe the collateral circulation in posterior circulation of the brain as seen on angiography. The authors are from multiple institutions in the Netherlands and Germany and belong to the BASICS Registry.
Exclusion: The score is not calculated if there are fetal variants of the posterior cerebral arteries (PCA arising from ACA; absence of P1 segments).
Arteries scored:
(1) left PICA (posterior inferior cerebellar artery)
(2) right PICA
(3) left AICA (anterior inferior cerebellar artery)
(4) right AICA
(5) left SCA (superior cerebellar artery)
(6) right SCA
(7) left PCoA (posterior communicating artery)
(8) right PCoA
