The dimensions of the fibrous plaque in Peyronie's disease can be determined by ultrasound or imaging studies. From these dimensions the volume can be calculated.
Patient selection: Peyronie's disease
Parameters:
(1) length in mm
(2) width in mm
(3) thickness in mm
volume in cubic mm =
= 0.524 * (length) * (width) * (thickness)
where:
• 0.524 (a rounded 0.523598) is from 4 / 3 * PI() / 8
• The 8 is cumulative product of halving the diameters to give the radii.
