The Paddington International Virtual Chromoendoscopy Score (PICaSSO) histologic remission index (PHRI) is a simple index for histologic remission for a patient with ulcerative colitis. The authors are from multiple institutions in Europe and North America.
Patient selection: ulcerative colitis

(3) neutrophil infiltration of crypt epithelium (cryptitis)

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 4
• A score of 0 indicates histologic remission.
• A score of 1 or more is associated with one or more adverse outcomes within 12 months.
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve was 0.77.
