Description

Some people who carry a mobile phone or a device with a vibrating mode may experience phantom events. 


Clinical features:

(1) The person believes that a mobile phone or other device is vibrating or ringing.

(2) When the person responds there is no evidence of a call, page or other trigger.

(3) The person is typically under stress.

(4) No other explanation is found (for example, call with immediate hang-up, device malfunction).

 

Significance:

(1) frequency of occurrence

(2) how bothered the person is by the episode
