Peritoneal Surface Disease Severity Score (PSDSS) for Metastatic Colorectal Cancer to the Peritoneum

The Peritoneal Surface Disease Severity Score (PSDSS) can be used to evaluate a patient with peritoneal metastases from a colorectal carcinoma.

Patient selection: colorectal carcinoma with peritoneal metastases

Parameters:

(1) clinical symptoms

(2) peritoneal cancer index (PCI)

(3) histologic features

• Severe symptoms include a weight loss > 10%, unremitting pain, bowel obstruction or symptomatic ascites.

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 2

• maximum score: 22
