Rhee et al reported a risk score for evaluating a pediatric patient prior to surgery. These were divided into groups that can be summed into a final score. The authors are from multiple Children's hospitals in the United States.

(2) Endocrine, Infectious, Neurologic, Gastrointestinal, Hematologic, Oncologic

(3) Musculoskeletal, Soft Tissue, Trauma, Perinatal

Interpretation:

• minimum subscore and total score: 0

• maximum subscore 1: 18

• maximum subscore 2: 25

• maximum subscore 3: 19

• maximum total score: 62
