Description

Weiss et al reported the Pediatric ED Overcrowding Scale (PEDOCS) to describe the status of a pediatric Emergency Department (ED). The authors are from the University of New Mexico, University of Colorado, University of Miami and Cincinnati Children's Hospital.


Selection: pediatric emergency department

 

Parameters:

(1) number of patients waiting in the Emergency Department

(2) total number of registered patients

= 33.3 * ((0.04 * (total registered)) + (0.07 * (number waiting)) + 0.11)
