Description

The Patient Satisfaction with Insulin Therapy (PSIT) questionnaire can be used to measure a patient's satisfaction with diabetic therapy. The score can be modified for use with other disorders.

Statements: 15 dealing with convenience, discomfort, satisfaction and other factors related to the therapy

 

Subscores:

(1) Convenience and ease of use (Group 1 - 10 items): statements 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 14, 15

(2) Social comfort (Group 2 - 5 items): statements 4, 8, 11, 12, 13

 

The responses use a 5 point Likert scale (strongly disagree, slightly disagree, neither agree nor disagree, slightly agree, strongly agree).

= SUM(points for all 5 statements)

 

total score =

= SUM(points for all 15 statements)

 

Interpretation:

• minimum convenience subscore: 10

• maximum convenience subscore: 50

• minimum social comfort subscore: 5

• maximum social comfort subscore: 25

• minimum total score: 15

• maximum total score: 75

• The higher the score, the greater the patient satisfaction with the regimen.
