Description

Parkes-Weber Syndrome (PWS) is a rare form of Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome.


Synonym: Klippel-Trenaunay-Weber Syndrome

 

Features of Parkes-Weber Syndrome:

(1) Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome (see previous section)

(2) large arteriovenous fistula (a small fistula does not usually qualify)

 

PWS may be complicated by:

(1) high-output heart failure

(2) poor viability of the affected limb

 

Surgery in these patients is often difficult and associated with complications.
