Description

Paris Consensus on Childhood Constipation Terminology (PACCT) was proposed by 8 pediatric gastroenterologists who met at the Second World Congress of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in Paris in July, 2004.


Fecal incontinence is the passage of stools in an inappropriate place.

 

Classification:

(1) organic: associated with neurological disease, sphincter abnormality or other organic disease

(2) functional, constipation-associated: non-organic with constipation

(3) functional, non-retentive (not constipation-associated): non-organic, not constipation-related in a child with mental age >= 4 years
