Description

A patient with mesothelioma may occasionally develop a paraneoplastic syndrome.


One of the more common presentations is a immune-mediated neurologic syndrome (anti-Hu, anti-Ma2, anti-Yo, anti-NMDA, anti-VGCC, other):

(1) vertical gaze palsy

(2) cerebellar degeneration

(3) polyneuropathy

 

Other paraneoplastic disorders include:

(1) leukemoid reaction

(2) oligoarthritis

(3) dermatomyositis

(4) recurrent TTP

(5) leukocytoclastic vasculitis

(6) hypoglycemia

(7) nephrotic syndrome
