Description

Papatheodoridis et al reported the PAGE-B score to predict the risk of developing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in a Caucasian patient with chronic hepatitis B who is receiving antiviral therapy. The authors are from multiple institutions in Europe and Canada.

Patient selection: chronic hepatitis B (HBV), age >= 16 years, on antiviral therapy

Parameters:

(1) age in years (A), >= 16 years

(2) sex or gender (GE)

(3) platelet count per microliter (P)

Interpretation:

minimum score: 0

maximum score: 25

The higher the score the greater the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma.
