Homma et al developed the Overactive Bladder Score (OBSS). The authors are from the University of Tokyo.
Parameters:
(1) number of going to the bathroom to urinate (urination episodes) during the day (time from getting up from bed to going to bed)
(2) number of getting up to urinate (urination episodes) at night (time from going to bed to getting up)
(3) frequency of having a sudden need to urinate
(4) frequency of accidental urination (incontinence) because unable to control a sudden need to urinate

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maimum score 15
• The higher the score the more likely that the patient has overactive bladder.
• Patients with overactive bladder have a mean score of 8.4.
• Patients with other diagnoses have a mean score < 5.2.
