Ottawa Rules for Foot and Ankle Radiographs Following Acute Injury

Is there pain in the malleolar zone (distal 6 cm of the tibia and fibular, or talus)?

Is there bone tenderness at the posterior edge or tip of lateral malleolus?

Is there bone tenderness at the posterior edge or tip of medial malleolus?

Is there pain in the midfoot zone (navicular bone, cuboid, cuneiforms, anterior process of calcaneus, base of fifth metatarsal)?

Is there bone tenderness at the base of the fifth metatarsal?

Is there bone tenderness at the navicular bone?

Was the patient unable to bear weight immediately after injury?

Is the patient unable to bear weight in the Emergency Department using 4 steps?
