Training in first aid may be required of some or all workers, depending on the work situation.
The person should be able to demonstrate competence with certification in:
(1) providing first aid
(2) immobilization of the injured worker if necessary
(3) safe transport the injured worker when necessary

(1) cardiopulmonary arrest and resuscitation
(2) hemorrhage
(3) lacerations and abrasions
(4) amputations
(5) fractures, sprains, strains and other musculoskeletal injuries
(6) blunt trauma and falls
(7) shock
(8) eye injuries
(9) burns
(10) loss of consciousness
(11) hypothermia and hyperthermia
(12) paralysis
(13) poisoning, including contact with poisonous plants
(14) bites and stings
(15) drug overdose
(16) psychiatric emergencies (psychosis, hallucinations, etc)
(17) topics specific to the work situation (diving, confined space, etc)
