Description

A patient with multiple myeloma may present with a number of oral findings.


Usually myeloma presents after the age of 50 years.

 

Oral findings associated with multiple myeloma:

(1) swelling of the mandible or maxilla

(2) bone pain

(3) gingivitis

(4) tooth mobility

(5) root resorption

(6) bleeding gums

(7) paresthesias

(8) macroglossia

(9) amyloidosis of the lip

(10) osteolytic lesions on dental X-rays
