OLGA Staging for Chronic Gastritis

Description

The Operative Link for Gastritis Assessment (OLGA) proposed a staging classification for chronic gastritis. The risk for intestinal-type gastric cancer increases with the duration and severity of gastric atrophy. The authors are from multiple institutions from around the world.

Patient selection: chronic gastritis (Helicobacter pylori)

Sites examined:

(1) gastric corpus (2 sites)

(2) gastric antrum (including the incisura angularis; 3 sites)

Atrophy at each site is graded.
