Cryptococcosis may be associated with significant ocular involvement.
Clinical symptoms may include:
(1) blurred vision
(2) diplopia
(3) visual field defects
(4) reduced vision including blindness
Findings on clinical exam may include:
(1) impaired pupillary accomodation
(2) ocular muscle paresis
(3) choroiditis
(4) endophthalmitis
(5) retinal hemorrhage
(6) papilledema (associated with raised intracranial pressure)
Findings on imaging studies may include:
(1) inflammation of the optic nerve
(2) optic atrophy
