Description

Bateman et al developed a comorbidity index for pregnant women. This can help to identify a woman who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from Brigham and Women's Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University, University of Michigan and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 45

• The higher the score the greater the maternal morbidity and mortality.

Performance:

• The area under the ROC curve was 0.66.
