Description

Xiong et al reported a nomogram for predicting survival of a woman with metastatic breast cancer. This can help to identify a woman who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from Sun Yat-sen University, the State Key Laboratory of Oncology in Southern China and the Collaborative Innovation Center for Cancer Medicine in Guangzhou, China.

Patient selection: metastatic breast cancer, less than 70 years of age

Outcome: 3-year overall survival

Parameters:

(1) age in years

(2) metastasis-free interval

(3) metastatic sites

(4) hormone receptor status
