Nomogram of Xin et al for Predicting Delirium After Hip Fracture Surgery in An Elderly Adult

Xin et al reported a nomogram for predicting delirium in an older adult after repair of a hip fracture. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from the Second Military Medical University in Shangai.

Patient selection: elderly adult (>= 65 years) with hip fracture after operative repair

Exclusion: ASA 5

Parameters:

(1) preoperative cognitive impairment

(2) number of medical comorbidities

(3) ASA class (from 1 to 4)

(4) number of RBC units transfused

(5) postoperative ICU stay
