Description

Poupon et al reported a nomogram for predicting complications following surgery for deep endometriosis without bowel involvement. This can help to identify a patient who may require more aggressive management. The authors are from Sorbonne University in France.

Patient selection: deep endometriosis without bowel involvement, from 15 to 55 years of age

Outcome: any Clavien-Dindo complications or voiding dysfunction lasting more than 1 month after surgery

Parameters:

(1) age in years from 15 to 55 years

(2) history of previous surgery for endometriosis

(3) risk group of ENZIAN classification

points for age =

= (1.5725 * (age)) - 23.5875

Interpretation:

minimum score: 0

maximum score: 241

The higher the score the greater the risk of complications.
