Description

Li et al reported a nomogram for predicting recurrence-free survival (RFS) for a patient with a primary gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST). The authors re from Tianjin Medical University, the Second People's Hospital of Liaocheng, Shandong First Medical University, Baodi People's Hospital of Tianjin Boaodi Clinical College and Tianjin General Surgery Institute in China.

Patient selection: primary gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST)

Parameters:

(1) site of tumor

(2) diameter in cm

(3) mitotic index, with mitoses per 50 high power field

(4) rupture

(5) prognostic nutritional index (PNI) of Onodera et al

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 244.2

• The higher the score the lower the probability of recurrence-free survival.

value of X =

= (-0.0001022 * ((score)^2)) - (0.011611 * (score)) + 2.8187

probability of 5-year recurrence-free survival =

= 1 / (1 + EXP((-1) * X))
