Description

Bendifallah et al developed a nomogram for predicting recurrence risk for a woman with a borderline ovarian tumor. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from aggressive management. The authors are from multiple institutions in France.

Patient selection: mucinous or serous borderline ovarian tumor, age 10 to 75

Outcome: recurrence within 5 years

Parameters:

(1) age in years

(2) FIGO staging

(3) histologic type

(4) surgical "stadification"

(5) surgery type

points for age =

= (-0.6154 * (age)) + 46.154

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 293

• The higher the score the greater the risk of recurrence.
