Risk factors for ingestion:
(1) intoxication
(2) attractive odor or taste (for children)
(3) unreliable packaging
(4) improper storage
Complications:
(1) agitation
(2) seizures
(3) hyperthermia
(4) tachycardia or bradycardia
(5) respiratory depression with respiratory failure
(6) cardiovascular arrest
(7) hypoxic encephalopathy
Variations:
(1) aspiration of the fluid
Laboratory testing:
(1) serum nicotine concentration
(2) serum cotinine concentration
