Description

Rarely a neonate may have Behcet's disease.


Clinical features:

(1) often (but not always) a history of maternal Behcet's disease

(2) perianal pustulonecrotic skin lesions

(3) mouth ulcers

(4) pathergy at sites of localized trauma

(5) variable joint swelling

(6) variable uveitis

(7) variable genital ulcerations

(8) variable cutaneous vasculitis

 

In most patients the disease resolves after a few weeks, especially if there is a history of maternal Behcet's disease.
