Naloxone has been reported to cause pulmonary edema in some patients.
Features:
(1) non-cardiogenic pulmonary edema
(2) recent dose of naloxone
Risk factors:
(1) high dose of naloxone
(2) previous history of naloxone-induced pulmonary edema
Differential:
(1) pulmonary edema related to the opiate being treated with the naloxone
(2) fluid overload or other cause of pulmonary edema
