Good risk -
all
of the following are present:
(1) blood urea nitrogen <= 30 mg/dL
(2) serum calcium <= 12 mg/dL
(3) no significant infection at the time of diagnosis
(4) white blood cell count >= 4,000/µL and platelet count >= 100,000/µL
(5) clinical estimate of likely survival > 2 months
Poor risk -
one or more
of the above "good risk" features not present:
(1) blood urea nitrogen > 30 mg/dL
(2) serum calcium > 12 mg/dL
(3) significant infection at the time of diagnosis
(4) white blood cell count < 4,000/µL or platelet count < 100,000/µL
(5) clinical estimate of likely survival <= 2 months
