Description

In a solution containing a constant molar amount of solute, the product of molarity times volume is a constant.


 

If a solution is diluted or concentrated, then

 

M1 * V1 = M2 * V2

 

where:

• M1 and V1 are the molarity and volume of the initial solution

• M2 and V2 are the molarity and volume of the final solution
