Description

Donati et al modified the Johns Hopkins classification of surgical procedures. The original classification had 5 levels while the modified version was reduced to 3.


Patient selection: preoperative assessment

Exclusions for Grade 1: open exposure of internal organs; vascular repair; neurosurgery; placement of prosthetic device; resection of major body organ; planned postoperative monitoring
