Chumpitazi et al modified the Bristol Stool Form Scale (BSFS) to evaluate the stool of toddlers. It shows good inter-rater reproducibility. The authors are from Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children's Hospital, University of Texas Health Science Center Houston and the Children's Nutritional Research Center in Houston.
The original BSFS has 7 types. The modified BSFS has 5, after removal of types 3 and 5 of the BSFS.
