Description

Dorajoo et al reported a score for predicting survival for a patient with stage IV colorectal cancer and unresectable metastases. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management or novel therapy. The authors are from National University of Singapore and Singapore General Hospital.

Patient selection: Stage IV colorectal cancer with unresectable metastases, status post resection primary tumor

Parameters:

(1) age in years

(2) serum albumin in g/L

(3) serum CEA concentration in ng/mL

(4) metastatic sites (liver, lung, bone, carcinomatosis)

(5) tumor grade

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 14

• The higher the score the worse the survival.
