Description

Ariesen et al developed a risk score for predicting intracerebral hemorrhage in a patient with a history of transient ischemic attack (TIA) or a minor ischemic stroke. This can help identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are members of the Cerebrovascular Cohort Studies Collaboration (CCSC).

Parameters:

(1) age of the patient in years

(2) blood glucose concentration

(3) systolic blood pressure in mm Hg

(4) therapy with antihypertensive medication

Interpretation:

• minimum score: -10

• maximum score: 17

• The higher the score the greater the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage.
