Raposeiras-Roubin et al reported the MitraScore for predicting mortality following percutaneous mitral valve repair. These can help to identify a patient who may require more aggressive management. The authors are form multiple institutions from Europe, Canada and Israel.
Patient selection: percutaneous mitral valve repair
Parameters:
(1) age of the patient in years
(2) left ventricular ejection fraction in percent (LVEF)
(3) anemia
(4) eGFR in mL per min per 1.73 square meters
(5) peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
(6) COPD
(7) high dose diuretics
(8) therapy with RAS inhibitors

Interpretartion:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 8
• The higher the score the greater the mortality.
• The mortality rate is 0% for a score of 0 and 86% for a score of 8.
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve is 0.70 for the derivation and 0.66 for the validation cohorts.
