Petrusic et al reported the Migraine Complexity Score (MACS). This can be used to stratify patients. The authors are from multiple institutions in Europe.
Patient selection: migraine with aura
Parameters:
(1) involvement of the upper limb and head
(2) primary and somatosensory cortices
(3) higher cortical dysfunction (HCD)related to the occipital lobe (V-HCDs, micropsia, macropsia, dysmorphia, fractured vision, prosopagnosia)
(4) higher cortical dysfunction (HCD) related to the parietal lobe (S-HCDs, astereognosis, dyspraxia, unawareness of own body parts)
(5) dysphasic and memory disturbances (D-HCDs; Broca's dysphasia, Wernicke's dysphasia, dyslexia, difficulties in remembering or recalling events, recalling names, calculating numbers, memorizing numbers)
