Lazansky developed a method for grading pain, function and mobility in a patient with a hip disorder. This can be used to evaluate a patient before and after hip surgery. The author is from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.
Parameters (see previous 2 sections):
(1) total score for pain
(2) total score for function
(3) total score for mobility
total score sum for all parameters =
= (total score for pain) + (total score for function) + (2 * (total score for mobility))
final overall score =
= (total score sum) / 4
Interpretation:
• minimum total score sum: 4
• maximum total score for pain: 23.57
• minimum final overall score: 1
• maximum total score for pain: 5.76
