Description

Schneeweis et al adjusted weights assigned to various comorbid conditions in the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) based on risk seen in patients from New Jersey. The authors are from Brigham and Women's Hospital.


Patient selection: Medicare (primarily >= 65 years)

 

The odds ratio for a risk factor is determined and the natural logarithm taken.

 

The weight increases by 1 for each 0.3 in the LN(OR).
