The Mauriac Syndrome is rare but can still be encountered in poorly controlled juvenile diabetics.
Clinical features of Mauriac syndrome:
(1) pediatric Type 1 diabetes (insulin dependent)
(2) growth impairment
(3) hepatosplenomegaly with steatosis
(4) Cushingoid appearance
The syndrome improves with insulin therapy and proper glycemic control.
