Description

Vanier et al reported a matrix for prediction of early radiographic progression of early rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from multiple institutions in Europe.

Patient selection: early rheumatoid arthritis

Outcome: rapid radiographic progression (RRP) at 1 year

Parameters:

(1) rheumatoid factor (RF), positive or negative

(2) rheumatoid joint erosions seen

(3) serum CRP in mg/L

(4) swollen joint count (SJC), out of 28 joints
