Patient selection: intrauterine infection with chorioamnionitis
Maternal infectious complications:
(1) postpartum endometritis
(2) sepsis
(3) peritonitis
(4) pelvic infection
(5) surgical site infection
Other complications:
(1) dysfunctional labor
(2) postpartum uterine atony with hemorrhage
(3) thrombosis of ovarian and other veins
(4) pulmonary emboli
(5) DIC
(6) adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS)
