Description

Yan et al reported the Maternal Anxiety for Neonatal Jaundice Scale (MANJS) to evaluate the level of anxiety shown by a mother with a jaundiced neonate. This can help to identify excessive anxiety. The authors are from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Hainan Women and Children's Medical Center in China.


Patient selection: mother with jaundiced neonate

 

Items:

(1) easily irritated until jaundice subsides

(2) nervous until jaundice subsides

(3) restless until jaundice subsides

(4) no appetite until jaundice subsides

(5) go online for information or keep consulting doctors and friends

(6) observe infant's every move and repeatedly confirm whether the behavior is related to jaundice

(7) keep an eye on the jaundice level and double check that it is within the normal range
