Chou et al reported the Marrow Metastases Prognostic Score (MMPS) for evaluation of a patient with metastases to the bone marrow. This is useful in making treatment decisions. The authors are from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan.
Patient selection: solid cancer with bone marrow metastases
Parameters:
(1) ECOG performance status
(2) site of primary cancer
(3) neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR)
(4) platelet count in 10^9/L

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 11.5
• The higher the score the worse the prognosis.
