A number offindings may be associated with a worse prognosis for a patient with restrictive cardiomyopathy.
Patient selection: restrictive cardiomyopathy
Markers of a poor prognosis:
(1) pulmonary congestion at diagnosis
(2) reactive pulmonary hypertension
(3) angina
(4) ischemic ECG changes
(5) left atrial diameter > 60 mm
(6) male sex
(7) reduced fractional shortening of the left ventricle
(8) increased end-diastolic posterior wall thickness
The presence of cirrhosis may impact prognosis after transplant.
