Abacioglu et al reported the MAPH score for identifying a STEMI patient with a high thrombus burden. The authors are from Hacettepe University, Usak University, and affiliated hospitals in Turkey.
MAPH is based on the first letter of the 4 parameters.
Patient selection: STEMI
Parameters:
(1) MPV in fL
(2) age in years
(3) protein, total, in g/L
(4) hematocrit in percent

= SUM(points for all of the parameters)
Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 4
• A score of 3 or 4 is associated with a high thrombus load.
Performance:
• The area under the ROC curve is 0.84.
• A cutoff > 2 has a sensitivity of 0.56 and specificity 0.92 for high thrombus load.
