The Limb Symmetry Index (LSI) is used to describe muscle strength or other performance measure in one limb versus a normal limb.
Parameters:
(1) muscle performance score in limb of interest
(2) muscle performance score in opposite, normal limb
LSI =
= (performance score in limb of interest) / (performance score in normal limb) * 100%
This is similar to muscle strength asymmetry.
