Dashe et al evaluated pregnant women with placenta previa. They predicted the chances of the condition lasting until term.


Parameters:

(1) type of placenta previa (partial or complete)

(2) history of cesarean delivery

(3) week of gestation when previa detected on ultrasound

A woman with persistent placenta previa during the third trimester should take precautions (avoiding intercourse, not use tampons) to avoid bleeding.
