Description

Police and emergency personnel will respond to the active shooter situation. Their first priority is to subdue the shooter.


Things to do:

(1) Follow the instructions given by the police.

(2) Do not carry anything in your hands.

(3) Keep your hands raised and visible with fingers spread.

(4) Proceed as quickly as possible away from the incident area.

(5) Do not leave until law enforcement authorities have instructed you to do so.

 

Avoid:

(1) Avoid making any quick movements towards officers.

(2) Avoid pointing, yelling or screaming.

(3) Avoid stopping to ask officers for help.

 

Expect:

(1) You may be pushed to the ground for your own protection.

(2) Wounded people will be left unattended during the initial response.

(3) To be asked to help with the wounded once the situation is under control.
