Description

Dubois et al reported criteria from an international working group (IWG) for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). This includes a simplified algorithm that takes into account the different categories. The authors are from multiple institutions in Europe and North America.

Features:

(1) presence of an in vivo pathophysiologic marker

(2) clinical phenotype

(3) genetic status (autosomal dominant mutation or gene)

Pathophysiologic marker - one of the following:

(1) low amyloid beta(1-42) and high T-tau or P-tau in the CSF

(2) high retention of amyloid tracer in amyloid PET
