Description

The International Organisation for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IOIBD) developed an index of Crohn's Disease Activity. It is also called the Oxford Index.


 

Parameters:

(1) pain

(2) >= 7 bowel movements per day (more than 6) with blood and/or mucus

(3) perianal complications

(4) abdominal mass

(5) emaciation or wasting

(6) body temperature > 38°C

(7) abdominal tenderness

(8) hemoglobin < 10 g/dL

(9) fistula

(10) other complications (pyogenic granulosum, arthritis, uveitis, erythema nodosum, etc)

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 10

• The higher the score the greater the disease activity.
