Reasons:
(1) reaction to someone stealing lunch or snacks
(2) revenge for slights and insults
(3) mental illness
Method of delivery:
(1) coffee or other drink
(2) baked goods
(3) chili, stew or other cooked dish
The selected poison may be:
(1) cleaner or cleansing agent
(2) rat or other pest poison
(3) arsenic
(4) just about anything
Differential diagnosis:
(1) accidental food poisoning
(2) accidental or unintentional substitution with a look-alike
(3) error in cleaning
